Washington Head Coach Takes Blame for Keeping Daniels in Contest Prior to Significant Injury

Washington Commanders head coach Coach Quinn has admitted he bears some the fault for a serious injury to the team’s quarterback, Daniels.

Details of the Injury and Situation

Jayden Daniels, who had one of the greatest rookie campaigns of all time the previous year, sustained a displaced left elbow in the Sunday defeat to the Seahawks. Although Daniels passes with his dominant arm, the injury has left his season in doubt. The injury was significant enough that the TV coverage did not show repeats and multiple players turned away as he was treated by team doctors.

Criticism and Leader’s Reaction

Quinn came under criticism as numerous believed the rookie should not have been on the field to begin with. The incident happened in the fourth quarter with the Commanders trailing 38-7, rendering a recovery unlikely. It is common in these circumstances for teams to put in their reserve QB to avoid harm to their first-string player.

“I get that. I’ve been reflecting about it constantly, too, and, wow, I erred,” he remarked of his choice to keep Daniels in the match. “This is 100% my fault.”

Aftermath and Team Outlook

Marcus Mariota will be the Commanders’ starting quarterback going forward, but he will lead a roster in turmoil. After making the conference title game last season behind Daniels’s excellence, the franchise have struggled currently. They also saw injuries to cornerback Lattimore (torn ACL) and pass-catcher McCaffrey (broken collarbone) on Sunday, and have a host of other key players on the injury list. The Commanders are three wins and six losses so far, and it would require a huge reversal for the club to make the postseason.
